BIOLOGICAL VALUE OF BEE POLLEN AS AN INGREDIENT OF FUNCTIONAL NUTRITION

Synopsis

Bee pollen loads represent one of the most valuable natural products of apiculture, which, due to their unique chemical composition and high biological activity, are considered a promising ingredient in functional nutrition. Contemporary trends in food science are oriented toward the use of natural products capable not only of supplying the human body with essential nutrients but also of contributing to disease prevention and health maintenance. In this context, bee pollen attracts particular attention as a multi-component biologically active raw material.
