TECHNOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF USING BEE POLLEN LOADS IN HEALTH PRODUCTS AND FUNCTIONAL NUTRITION

Synopsis

Bee pollen is one of the most valuable biological resources of natural origin, combining high nutritional, biological, and functional value. In the modern context of growing interest in healthy lifestyles, preventive medicine, and functional nutrition, bee pollen is increasingly regarded not only as a traditional beekeeping product but also as a promising raw material for the development of health-promoting products and nutraceuticals. Its uniqueness is determined by its rich and balanced chemical composition. It contains complete proteins with a wide spectrum of essential amino acids, carbohydrates, lipids, enzymes, B-group vitamins, ascorbic acid, carotenoids, tocopherols, macro- and microelements, as well as numerous biologically active compounds, including flavonoids and phenolic acids. Thanks to this composition, bee pollen exhibits antioxidant, immunomodulatory, adaptogenic, and metabolic regulatory properties, making it a promising ingredient in functional nutrition.
